The Gallente Multirole Battleship Megathron represents the second generation in the Gallente stellar warfare.

Its beauty and grace deceives those in awe from its sheer appitite for destruction and tenacity.

The Gallente before the arrival of the megathron heavily relied on drones to provde most of thier firepower. However during the Caldari-Gallente Civil War, the Caldari soon quickly exposed weakeness of the drones as Caldari overspecialized in ranged combat leaving the slow warhorse Domonix Drone Battleship nearly in unfavorable positions against the Caldari Sniper Fleets.

The Megathron soon arrived with a different mindset to warfare. When the Megathron was first rolled out into the war, the Caldari where very unprepared when the preditoral speeds of the Megathron decended upon them and reaching ranges so close crew can see each other form the windows of thier respective ships.

The frgiate sized plasma shotguns known as Blasters would then tear though caldari shields as if they where nothing and without shields caldari ships sensitive technologies where fully exposed to the talons of the Megathron.

To this day despite the introduction of the Gallente Hyperion Assault Battleship, whom touts Blaster use, the megathron is still found in many fleets providing all manners of offensive warfare whenever it be close quaters dogfighting ranges or beyond sight blind shooting the presence of the Megathron in battle is more than enough to demand respect and attention.

This is an offical Eve design, the gallente megathron is quite a popular ship in eve and it was once of the most feared ships for its time and still to this day hold a great iconic value amongst players and npcs alike.

The megathrons iconism is nearly equal to the ISD from starwars, it had been argued many times though but mostly agreed that the armaments of the megathron would disable a ISD within a few vollies as the ISD struggles to etch the megathrons highly laser and kenetic resistant armor.
